ARCT-Ruhuka in Partnership with LIWOHA with support from GIZ/ZFD Refugee component are organizing the first ever National conference on Mental Health & Psychosocial Support in Refugee camps and Host Communities.
The 1-day conference will provide a space for experience sharing and learning with different Institutions, key stakeholders, partners and individuals at national, regional and global levels, to further strengthen their interventions in supporting peaceful coexistence between refugees and host communities.
Other objectives include;
- To raise awareness on importance of Mental Health and Psychosocial problems (MHPSS) among Refugees Camps and Host Communities and other service providers.
- To provide a forum for exchange and learning for MHPSS service providers , with program beneficiaries (refugees and host communities )
- To draw key learning and recommendations for future interventions.
The conference participants will be from both refugee community and host communities as well as those from different parts at the National, Regional and International Levels, including key partners of ARCT-Ruhuka and LIWOHA, mental health and psychosocial support practitioners.
Due to COVID 19 preventive measures, it is planned that conference will bring together over 100 participants virtually and 40 participants will be physically following (Face to Face).
- Date and Venue:
The conference will be held on Thursday, January 14th 2021, from 9:00am to 12:00 Noon and will be fully hosted online / Virtual due to the Government restrictions on the COVID 19 preventive measures.
Remote follow will be via zoom.
